President Trump: The Obama Administration “Should Have Done” What I Did to Syria
President Trump is defending the recent strike on Syria in response to its leader using chemical weapons on its own people.
FOX’s Rachel Sutherland reports from Washington:
The President told the FOX Business Network that the U.S. is not “going in” to Syria, but he said something needed to be done about embattled President Bashar al-Assad:
(President Trump) “What I did should have been done by the Obama administration a long time before I did it.”
President Trump said Russia should not be backing President al-Assad, whom he called an “animal”. Some lawmakers say President Trump acted illegally because he didn’t consult Congress. Supporters of the military action say it was not an act of war and did not need Congressional approval.
