‘Sweat’ Playwright Lynn Nottage Wins Second Pulitzer Prize

Lynn Nottage has just been announced as the 2017 recipient of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama for her new play “Sweat,” about a group of Reading Pennsylvania factory workers facing layoffs. Nottage, now the first female playwright to win the prestigious award twice.

FOX’s Jane Metzler talks with this Brooklyn native, MacArthur “Genius” grant recipient and married mother-of-two about the blue-collar workers who inspired “Sweat” and what they think of the play. The Brown University and Yale School of Drama graduate also discusses re-teaming with frequent collaborator and Broadway veteran, director Kate Whoriskey to bring “Sweat” to the New York stage.
