President Trump Issues Permit for Keystone Pipeline, Says It’s a “Great Day for American Jobs”
President Trump has given the green-light to building the Keystone XL Pipeline.
FOX’s Rachel Sutherland reports from Washington:
Saying it’s a “great day for American jobs”, President Trump announced his administration has issued a permit to build the long-delayed project:
(President Trump) “Today we take one more step in putting the jobs, wages and economic security of American citizens first.”
The President called the Keystone Pipeline part of a “new era of American energy policy” that he said will lower costs and reduce reliance on foreign oil. Legal challenges to the much-protested project are active in several states.
Greenpeace says it will continue to fight what it calls “dirty energy”.
