The Plot Thickens into Russian Investigation

A major rift has emerged in one of the Congressional committees looking into Russia’s influence on the election.

FOX’s Jared Halpern has more from Capitol Hill:

The top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee says the panel’s Republican chairman must decide if he’s leading an independent investigation:

(Schiff) “Or he is going to act as a surrogate of the White House, because he cannot do both.”

Adam Schiff says he has profound doubts after the committee’s Republican chairman Devin Nunes told reporters President Trump’s transition team may have been caught up in incidental legal surveillance unrelated to the Russia probe:

(Nunes) “The President needs to know these intelligence reports are out there and I have a duty to tell him.”

President Trump has accused his predecessor of wiretapping Trump Tower, a claim the FBI director rejected this week.
