CBS and Turner Sports announcing an average of 11.9 million people tuned in to close out the weekend, a 34 percent increase over last year. Six of the eight games Sunday were decided by seven points or less, including South Carolina’s upset of Duke in prime-time.
Overall, TV audiences for the first and second rounds were up 10 percent from last year, averaging more than 9.3 million viewers.
