March Madness: “Steaks” are High for Northern Kentucky Against Kentucky

Cinderella runs are always fun at the NCAA basketball tournament, but one school has some extra motivation to get just one win.

FOX’s Chris Hoenig reports:

The stakes are high for former Division II powerhouse Northern Kentucky: Upset Kentucky in the first round on Friday, and Jeff Ruby will give all 15,000 university students a free steak dinner at one of his Cincinnati-area restaurants.

Reporters grilling Ruby about his offer:

(Ruby) “I got $1,250,000 bet on this game. I don’t think there’s that many people betting that much on this game in Vegas, anywhere.”

A rare feat for a job well done in a juicy match-up.

Ruby says it’s important to hold no beefs, to support hometown organizations, and Northern Kentucky is an asset to the area. Now the team just has to me(a)T his expectations.
