Energy and Commerce Chairman Greg Walden On Fulfilling A Promise To American People With New Healthcare Plan

U.S. Representative for Oregon’s 2nd congressional district and Chairman of the full Committee on Energy & Commerce Greg Walden joined Kilmeade and Friends today to discuss the GOP’s plan to repeal and replace Obamacare. The plan, introduced last week after President Trump announced that “Obamacare was collapsing,” will rescue those hurt by Obamacare’s failures and lay the groundwork for a patient-centered health-care system. According to the Energy and Commerce website, the American Health Care Act:

  • Creates a Patient and State Stability Fund – This new and innovative fund give states broad flexibility to design programs that best serve their unique populations. They can also use funds to increase access to preventative services.
  • Responsibly unwinds Obamacare’s Medicaid expansion – By freezing new enrollment at the end of 2019 and grandfathering in current enrollees, we protect patients and offer a stable transition.
  • Strengthens Medicaid – Using a per capita allotment, our legislation ensures a fair funding formula for states while creating a viable financial future for the program.
