Oscars ‘Best Picture’ Fallout Continues

The Oscars ‘Best Picture’ mix-up continues to be a hot topic.

FOX’s Ashley Dvorkin has more:

The fallout continues after the astounding movie mix-up at this year’s Oscars on ABC. Yes I’m talking about ‘La La Land’ being read as ‘Best Picture’ before the actual winner ‘Moonlight’ received the award.

This is an error which has never occurred in all of Oscars history and according to the AP, the Film Academy president Cheryl Boone Isaacs now says the two accountants responsible for the ‘Best Picture’ mistake will never work the Oscars again.

Isaacs also says the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences relationship with Price Waterhouse Coopers, the accounting firm in charge of Oscars envelopes, remains under review.

Brian Cullinan and Martha Ruiz were responsible for the winner’s envelopes at Sunday’s show. As various outlets cited Cullinan tweeted a photo of Emma Stone from backstage just minutes before handing presenters Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway the wrong envelope for ‘Best Picture’.

Isaacs says it was his Cullinan being distracted that caused the error.
