The Tooth Fairy is Dishing Out the Dough
A new survey says kids are getting more for their lost teeth these days.

It’s one of the fond childhood memories we hold dear, you lose a tooth, put it under the pillow, and in the morning, you excitedly look to see what the Tooth Fairy left you in exchange for it.
Back in the day, it was a quarter, or a dollar. But now, kids are making a haul in comparison to that. Delta Dental’s 13th annual Tooth Fairy Survey found that kids are getting an average of $4.66 for a lost tooth. That’s up 75 cents from last year.
The survey was first done in 2003, when the payout was a $1.78. And get this, the survey says the Tooth Fairy payout growth is comparable to the S&P 500.
Last year, the Tooth Fairy paid more than $290 million for lost teeth.
