Monopoly Thimble Token Gets the Boot
Monopoly says goodbye to one of its classic game pieces.
FOX’s Carmen Roberts reports:
The people have voted and they’ve kicked the thimble off the Monopoly board game. The token’s been passing go since 1935, but it finished last among 4 million online votes to decide which pieces will be in the game’s next version.
For the first time in Monopoly’s 82 years, the public’s deciding on all eight of the game pieces. Last month they chose from among the current pieces and 56 new, more relevant ones, including a flip-flop, emojis, and a hashtag.
Game owner, Hasbro, plans a big reveal of the eight winners on March 19. And the new games roll out in August.
