Legal Challenge to President Trump’s Travel Ban Continues
President Trump’s travel ban continues to be a hot topic in courts.
FOX’s Tonya J. Powers has the story:
There’s push-back from the courts over the executive order that bans people from seven countries from coming into America for 90 days.
In Virginia, a U.S. district judge granted a preliminary injunction barring the ban nationwide, finding religious bias was at the heart of the order.
In Washington state, U.S. district judge James Robart says he’ll go ahead with discovery and start looking at the merits of the case. He’s the judge that suspended the President’s immigration ban and got a barrage of angry tweets from the President in return. One of them saying “see you in court”.
His ruling was upheld by a three-judge panel of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals and now a judge on that court is asking for its 25 full-time judges to vote on whether it should be reconsidered by a larger panel.
