Boy Scouts First Transgender Member Back in Uniform

The boy scouts now have their first transgendered member.

    FOX’s Dave Anthony reports:

Joe Maldonado put his cub scout uniform on Tuesday night declaring I am accepted. The New Jersey boy is the first openly transgendered member.

A week after the Boy Scouts of America made a policy change allowing kids like Joe, who’s nine-years-old and was told to leave the scouts last year when they found out he was born a girl.

Joe’s mother put up a fight after the Northern New Jersey Council got rid of him, gaining national attention. But Maldonado’s not a member of that pack in Secaucus where he had trouble and parents complained.

Instead, he took the oath and joined Pack 20 in Maplewood.
