RNC Elects First Female Leader in Three Decades

    A woman will become the next chair of the Republican National Committee.

    FOX’s Rachel Sutherland reports from Washington:

    Ronna Romney McDaniel, the niece of 2012 Presidential nominee Mitt Romney, was elected by members of the RNC at a meeting in Washington.

    The 43-year-old replaces Reince Priebus, who’s leaving the post to serve as chief of staff in the Trump White House.

    McDaniel gained favor with then- candidate Donald Trump, when she supported him in spite of a feud with her uncle. McDaniel is the first female RNC chair in three decades.
