Apple’s iPhone Celebrates 10th Anniversary
It’s been 10 years since the unveiling of one of the most popular mobile devices in the world: the iPhone.
FOX’s Tonya J. Powers takes a look at the beginning of the iPhone:
On this date 10 years ago, Apple CEO Steve Jobs stood on a stage in California, wearing the jeans and black turtleneck look he’d become known for and made an announcement that would change the way many of us communicate.
(Jobs) “Today, Apple is going to re-invent the phone.”
Jobs said the iPhone was three pieces of technology in one and featured an iPod, a phone, and what he called an “internet communicator”:
(Jobs) “The iPod in 2001 changed everything about music, and we’re gonna do it again with the iPhone in 2007.”
Apple celebrated the sale of the billionth iPhone last summer.
