Maine PD Uses Song to Boost Public Safety Message

A police department’s using song lyrics to make a public safety point.

    FOX’s Chris Foster reports:

(Manfred Mann) “Blinded by the light.”

Posting on Facebook, police in Bangor, Maine, want people to think about this song and be reminded to clear the snow off your whole car after a storm. Snow that can slide onto your windshield and leave you driving blind or fly off and effect other drivers.

Sgt. Tim Cotton says he thought about using other songs but landed on ‘Blinded by the Light’, even if most people don’t know the lyrics. He posted a picture taken by another officer, of a car heading down the road, the windshield completely covered.
