Has Time Run out for the Raiders in Oakland?

Is it too little, too late in a bid to keep an NFL team from moving?

FOX’s Chris Hoenig reports:

Oakland’s city council voting late Tuesday night to open negotiations with a group of investors who are looking to build a $1.3 billion football stadium, hoping that will prevent the Raiders from fleeing for Las Vegas.

Mayor Libby Schaaf has already announced a framework of a deal with the group, led by hall of famer and former Raider Ronnie Lott:

(Lott) “Right now we’re in an opportunity to do something that a lot of people didn’t think we could do.”

Raiders owner Mark Davis has said he’s committed to attempting a move to Las Vegas, which has already approved a $1.9 billion domed stadium for the team.

NFL and team executives met with Lott’s group earlier this week, expressing concerns about how the funding would be divvied up for the Oakland plan.

NFL owners could vote on a potential move as early as January.
