Austin Dillon’s Hoping for Success at Talladega

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Chase heads to Talladega Superspeedway for this Sunday’s race and NASCAR expanding its presence in Mexico.

FOX’s Marghiee Teshineh has this week’s “FOX in the Fast Lane”:

Austin Dillon continues to hang on, currently ninth in the Chase standings and hoping a win or Top Ten finish at Talladega will move him in to the next round of the Chase:

(Dillon) “It’s a good spot for us to be in going into Talladega. We have nothing to lose and I’m proud of our team just giving ourselves this chance and so I’m very optimistic and look forward to racing hard at Talladega.”

Carl Edwards says the last two weeks including a runner up finish at Kansas gives them some breathing room headed into this weekend:

(Edwards) “That’s the bright side. We’ve got two decent races under our belts to go to Talladega with.”

In an effort to strengthen its presence in Mexico, NASCAR has announced a full slate of races in 2017 and a multi-year deal with Old World Industries with PEAK the title sponsor of the NASCAR Peak Mexico Series. The PEAK series helped develop the career of Daniel Suarez, the first Mexican-born driver to compete for a title in the Xfinity Series.
