STD’s Continue to Rise in the United States
STD’s in the United States are at an all time high.
FOX’s Kathleen Maloney reports:
According to the latest CDC report, there were 19 percent more cases of syphilis last year. Gonorrhea cases grew nearly 13 percent and chlamydia cases were up almost six percent.
Young people and gay bisexual men continue to be the most affected by STD’s. The CDC also found the syphilis rate among women spiked 27 percent and more babies were born with syphilis.
That’s considered troubling because infection can be prevented with prenatal care. The CDC says while rates of STD’s are rising. Programs aimed at preventing them are being cut back.
