Study: Traffic Deaths on the Rise
U.S. Traffic fatalities surged in the first six months of 2016.
FOX’s John Saucier reports:
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says traffic deaths are up more than 10 percent, with over 17,000 highway fatalities the first six months of this year.
The folks who study these things say they can’t pinpoint specific reasons for the uptick in deaths, but they suspect that distracted driving might be a big reason.
So, now they have a plan to equip cars with more technology-driven safety gear, like the kind we’re beginning to see that’s designed to help drivers avoid collisions, they a goal of actually ending traffic fatalities within 30 years.
