Martin Truex Jr. Looks to Carry Good Fortune into New Hampshire
The Chase for NASCAR Sprint Cup goes to New Hampshire Motor Speedway Sunday for the New England 300. NASCAR faces discrimination lawsuit and Jimmie Johnson and Martin Truex Jr. escape a penalty.

Martin Truex Jr. punched his ticket to the next round of the Chase thanks to a win at Chicago and said it’s thanks to the guys in the garage:
(Truex Jr.) “Without a doubt it’s the best team I’ve ever had, you know, I think it’s the best position I’ve ever been in I really feel like we have what it takes to win this championship.”
But is Truex worried about this weekend’s race at Loudon and the rest of the Chase?:
(Truex Jr.) “I’ve never been a position where I feel like we can go anywhere and win. And right now I feel like any race track any weekend, anywhere in the country we can win. And it’s just so much fun to go to the race track and have that feeling and have that much confidence in your team and what’s you’re doing.”
NASCAR is being sued for $500 million by Diversity Motorsports Racing LLC, accusing the sport of racial discrimination for preventing black-owned teams and drivers from competing. NASCAR says the lawsuit has no merit.
And in a rare reversal, NASCAR announced this week it will not penalize championship contenders Martin Truex Jr. and Jimmie Johnson for failing technical inspection following Sunday’s race at Chicago.
