Miami Neighborhood Declared Zika-Free
Pregnant women are still being told to be cautious in a part of Florida where the Zika virus was being spread by mosquitoes, but an advisory has been lifted.

Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood, the first in the U.S. to be placed under an advisory for Zika-carrying mosquitoes is now free and clear.
Florida governor Rick Scott:
(Scott) ”For 45 straight days we’ve have no local transmission of Zika. That’s a good day.”
Wynwood was where public health officials first found Zika spreading to people who hadn’t traveled outside the U.S. The CDC says women, especially pregnant women, should still use repellent and wear long sleeves.
The advisory is still active for Miami Beach, and now includes four and half square miles encompassing the South Beach section.
