Cries to Remove Confederate Statues in Baltimore

Two Confederate statutes may soon be removed from display in Baltimore.

FOX’s Tom Rigatti reports: 

The monuments stand in tribute to Confederate war heroes Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson and chief Supreme Court Justice Roger Taney, who wrote the 1857 decision denying black people citizenship.

A city commission is recommending they be taken down. Some people say this will erase history. Not so, argues Baltimore Mayor Stephanie-Rawlings Blake: 

(Blake) “I don’t think any of the commission members were interested in erasing or rewriting history, but we certainly should work to interpret it for today’s context.”

But the Mayor says she’s not yet decided whether to follow the recommendation.
