Another Star Athlete Joins the Kaepernick Protest Party

Colin Kaepernick’s National Anthem protest spreads.

FOX’s Chris Hoenig reports:

U.S. soccer star Megan Rapinoe taking a knee during the National Anthem before yesterday’s match for her club team, the Seattle Reign.

The 31-year-old saying it was intentional, a little nod to Kaepernick, telling reporters, “being a gay American, I know what it means to look at the flag and not have it protect all of your liberties.”

Rapinoe’s gesture comes as the Santa Clara police chief vows to continue protecting 49er’s home games, after the union representing his officers threatened to boycott policing the stadium over Kaepernick’s criticism of police.

Since he began his public protests, Kaepernick’s jersey sales have skyrocketed, he’s gone from 20th on the 49er’s to first, fifth overall in the NFL.
