President Obama & Vladimir Putin Meet at G20 Summit
President Obama says the U.S. and Russia haven’t given up on negotiations on a ceasefire in Syria.
FOX’s Rachel Sutherland reports from Washington:
The President says the U.S. and Russia haven’t given up on negotiations on a ceasefire in Syria.
He told a news conference at the G20 summit in Hangzhou that diplomats from both countries have been instructed:
(President Obama) ”To keep working at it over the next several days. Because the faster we can provide some relief to folks on the ground, the better off we’re going to be.”
President Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin sat down for 90-minutes. The President called the meeting productive, but acknowledged talks have been complicated by ongoing gaps of trust.
