Senator Lindsey Graham: Trump Gave A Damning Indictment Of Obama’s Failed Foreign Policy
“One thing I thought Donald Trump did very well was giving damning indictment, like a prosecutor, of Obama’s failed foreign policy. It is true, whether people want to believe it or not, I believe it, without Obama’s withdrawal from Iraq and failure to intervene in Syria in a timely way, there would be no ISIL.”
–Senator Graham on Donald Trump’s foreign policy speech
Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) called into Kilmeade & Friends to discuss Donald Trump’s speech yesterday calling for “extreme vetting” of immigrants coming to America, his advice to Trump on how to deal with Iran, President Obama releasing 15 more Gitmo inmates and the Obama administration phasing out Israeli developed technology in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Lindsey Graham on why Trump is right to call for more vetting of Muslim refugees & Obama’s failed foreign policy
(GRAHAM) I think I call it a necessity. Remember the San Bernardino shooting? You had the lady come in on fiancé visa, she was posting radical thoughts. Clearly she was not somebody we would want to come into the country, Donald was right about Major Hassan, there were plenty of warning signs. We have to do two things, we have to have a timeout on refugees coming from unstable areas of the world and we need to make sure we know who is coming into this country and back here at home we need to have our antenna up for radicalization. One thing I thought Trump did well was giving damning indictment of Obama failed foreign policy. It is true whether people want to believe it or not, I believe it, without Obama’s withdrawal from Iraq and failure to intervene in Syria in a timely way, there would be no ISIL.
Graham on Obama closing Gitmo
(GRAHAM) A horrible idea. I’m going to introduce legislation with Kelly Ayotte that says you can’t transfer anybody out of Gitmo until ISIL is destroyed. Trump right to keep Gitmo open. He’s right to try foreign combatants in military commissions. Obama’s wrong to close prison because people there now will go back to fight. About 30% have gone back to the fight. He is trying to fulfill campaign promise that makes no sense in light of current conditions. If he wanted to end wars, well, he’s created more wars. He is more worried about campaign promises than national security. So if I were Mr. Trump I would be all over this and say nobody’s leaving Gitmo until it’s safe to leave Gitmo.
Lindsey Graham on the Obama admin phasing out Israeli developed tech in Iraq and Afghanistan
(GRAHAM) I saw a lot of Israeli developed technology in Iraq and Afghanistan so Obama’s going to phase it out which means Israel’s defense industries will be weakened. He also phases out the ability of the IDF to use some of that money to purchase fuel. I think they’re negotiating an amount less than what congress has been willing to give. Congress appropriated this year in the senate 3.4 billion rather than 3.1 billion. The administration objects to me giving Israel 300 million more even though Israel is surrounded by ISIL and Syria and Iran is helping Hezbollah in an unprecedented way. Their objective should be increasing aid to Israel.
