DOJ Report Criticizes Baltimore PD

More than a year after the death of Freddie Gray in Baltimore, the Justice Department has released its report into the city police department.

    FOX’s Rachel Sutherland reports:

Civil rights division chief Vanita Gupta says the Baltimore Police Department engages:

(Gupta) ”In a pattern or practice of conduct that violates the Constitution and federal anti-discrimination law.”

The report finds police targeted African-Americans, with many police stops taking place in two small black neighborhoods…

Mayor Stephanie Rawlings Blake says the city will implement the DOJ’s recommendations:

(Blake) ”I’m grateful that we could begin this process of meaningful change while I’m Mayor.”

The police commissioner says some Baltimore officers have already been fired for egregious behavior.
