Pokemon Mania: a 90’s Kid’s Virtual Reality Dream Come True
A new cellphone game has people going crazy, along with one company’s stock.
FOX’s Jane Metzler has more:
Nintendo stocks soaring. The Japanese company worth an estimated nine billion more than it was last week after launching the new virtual reality game Pokemon GO. It has people all over the world catching “characters” from Charmander and Squirtle to the big get, “Pikachu”, in some pretty odd places including our New York newsroom, no kidding.
The cartoon cat, Meowth, perched on colleague Harrison Golden’s shoulder. Some people even going after Pokemon in the ocean, scooping them up from their kayaks. One problem, game players are so focused, they’re not paying attention to anything else, walking into people, even getting into accidents.
