New York Musician Willie Nile Keeps the Spirit of Levon Helm & Lou Reed Alive
New York singer/songwriter Willie Nile has been plugging away for quite some time. His first release came back in 1980, following that he went on to open up for The Who and gained recognition around the country. Nile writes from the heart and you hear it in all of his songs. Throughout the years, Nile has built up a loyal following and calls musicians like Bruce Springsteen and Pete Townshend his friends.
FOX’s Tommy Byrne got a chance to speak with Willie about his latest album ‘World War Willie’ along with his connections to the late Lou Reed, Levon Helm, and Buddy Holly, who lost his life in a tragic plane crash, coined “the day the music died”.
