Texas Republican Congressman Wesley Hunt joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to explain why he takes issue with Democrats’ characterization of Elon Musk and the work being done by the Department of Government Efficiency.
“Keep in mind that how many bureaucrats over the course of the past 40 years were unelected bureaucrats that the Democrats put in place that no one, quote unquote, voted for? Well guess what? That’s why we have an executive branch. That’s why we have somebody in charge to take the will of the American people and find competent people to execute on that will. So Elon Musk is doing exactly what President Trump campaigned on for the past two years, and that is we are going to get rid of fraud, waste and abuse. And luckily for us, we have the richest, one of the smartest men in the world that’s willing to donate his time to do just that. If for those people that think that Elon Musk cares about money, I’m here to tell you as somebody that has spent time around him, he doesn’t. He is doing this literally because he believes that this is going to save the future for his children, our children and our grandchildren and our great grandchildren. Somebody has to do it. And this is a federal government. And if Congress won’t do our job, which, by the way, we don’t. Newsflash. That’s why we have continuing resolution, an omnibus bill after omnibus bill. Finally, President Trump said, you know what? If they’re not going to do it, Elon Musk, I need you to go line by line and find this crap. And I’m glad he’s here.”
