“Donald Trump is revolutionizing many things. First of all, he’s revolutionizing the Republican Party. And that’s just a given. The use of tariffs that we’ve seen this week is once again establishing America as the dominant economic player. Because what people always want to tell you with tariffs is that it hurts the country that’s imposing them. If that’s the case, why did Mexico and Canada retaliate with tariffs if they want to hurt their own people more? You know, the logic is not there. It’s meant to protect domestic industries and domestic workers. And Donald Trump is doing that first and foremost. And he’s also getting other countries to bend the knee because they don’t have the wherewithal to compete like us. So we shouldn’t treat them like that either.”
