Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) spoke to Brian Kilmeade about his belief that senators should not vote against presidential nominees. Tuberville says while senators can reject nominees, he does not understand why republicans would vote against nominees from President Trump because he was given a mandate from the voters. Tuberville explained how Democrats that have never voted against any of the nominees from President Biden and used Merrick Garland as an example as the worst Attorney General ever who weaponized the DOJ against President Trump. Tuberville pointed out how 20 Republican senators voted for Garland, someone he feels broke the law and was against the Constitution. Turning specifically to Matt Gaetz nomination for Attorney General, Tuberville says it is the President’s prerogative to pick somebody this time that’s going to stand behind him. Tuberville went on to say the last time Trump was President, he picked Jeff Sessions who was not the strongest Attorney General and President Trump is going to need all the protection he can get from outside swamp because it is going to be a fight.
