Republican Strategist for Axiom Strategies Erin Perrine joins Fox Across America With guest host Paul Gleiser to shed light on the flaws in President Biden’s strategy to convince skeptical Democratic lawmakers that he still has enough support among voters to beat former President Trump in November.
“When it comes to Joe Biden, yes, that slow bleed of members coming out, especially House members saying, we don’t want you to run, we want you to step down. That number will continue to grow. But you’ve only seen one senator. A few have been a little bit cautious. So unless the Senate noise starts getting louder, that could be another inflection point and you’re not hearing it from governors either. So yes, more than 17 House members have come out and said in one senator that we need a different direction. That’s just not enough force in the Democratic Party to sway Joe Biden. And to be honest, Joe Biden, I’m surprised more senators have not come out to ask him to step aside because of the level of what senators would consider disrespect that Joe Biden has showed them. Yesterday, he sent his staff. They may have been three of his most senior staff, to go and assuage their fears about his campaign and about where he is, and that, as a senator, would be the biggest slap in the face. You don’t send staff to go talk to the senators. Joe Biden was a senator. He was the president of the Senate as the vice president. But he doesn’t do that. But today he’s going to meet with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus. Now, there are, I believe, four senators in that. It’s not the same thing. It’s not the same thing to meet with a block of Democrats versus taking the time and actually sitting in front of your full Senate colleagues and, you know, for lack of a better term, to have a conversation with them. I think that’s going to be an inflection point. The senators are staying very cool right now, as they generally do in the Senate. If that tie starts to turn, maybe I could see something, but there’s just not enough groundswell at this point to push him out.”
