Witnessing the Scope Of American Sacrifice

“If you make the ultimate sacrifice, we will provide you a home,” a promise that Charles Djou, the Secretary of the American Battle Monuments Commission, honors heavily.

As the person given the honor of running the Normandy American Center, Djou joins Martha to discuss why this position is so meaningful to him after he served for 24 years in the Army Reserve, how much effort goes into making military cemeteries as breathtaking as they are today, and why the United States continues to be committed to finding soldiers who are missing in action, regardless of how much time has passed.
