Former Hawaii Democratic Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to shed light on the alarming precedent that has been set after a Manhattan jury found former President Trump guilty on all 34 counts of falsifying business records related to the hush money payment made to adult film star Stormy Daniels.
“By the Democrats setting this precedent that this is now a new norm, I don’t understand how they don’t see it as being just a matter of time before they are on the receiving end of this. That as the power shifts from one party to another, if this is the new norm, if this is what we do in America now, which President Biden and the Democratic leaders saying, this is what we do, then this will be what occurs not only to prominent presidential candidates or a former president in this case, but to everyday Americans. How can we just as everyday Americans, feel safe in exercising something that is so fundamental to who we are as Americans in this country, in having the freedom to criticize our own government and having the freedom to say, no, Mr. President, you’re wrong because of X, Y, and Z. I disagree with you. I think your policies are bad for our country. This is unique to our freedoms that we have in this country, that a lot of other people in other countries, frankly, don’t have. And the reason they don’t have it is because of actions from people in power, like we just saw yesterday. That was a powerful message to everyone that says, hey, if you go against us, if you go against the Democrat elite, you may be next. You may be on the receiving end of this weaponization of our justice system and law enforcement. That to me, is the real travesty of what happened yesterday and what’s continuing to happen. Yesterday was just one further step in that direction, and why I feel so strongly that this must be a unifying moment. This isn’t about a Republican victory over Democrats, or, in the Democrats minds, a Democrat victory over Republicans. This has got to be a unifying moment for us as Americans, to truly recognize the seriousness of this moment in our country, because it will go down in the history books as a travesty for our country, and how we have to take individual responsibility as American citizens to right this wrong by punishing those who are abusing their power at the ballot box on November 5th and sending them home, getting them out of office.”
Jimmy and Tulsi also talk about the importance of keeping the Republican Party unified in this moment. To hear what else she had to say, listen to the podcast!
