Rantz had this to say on a new rule that would get rid of the bar exam in WA state as a requirement to become a lawyer:

“The whole idea is to have a class of students that is ‘more representative of the community’. And so what we’ve seen is just basically taking away certain spots from students, unless they check some boxes from a racial perspective. And that was actually hurting Asian students here in Washington state, and white students who were ‘disproportionately represented by the admissions process’. And so I don’t want to lower standards when, you know, if my life is on the line.”
