Retired NYPD inspector Paul Mauro joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to share his reaction to Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee ruling that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis must either step aside from the case involving former President Trump, or fire special prosecutor Nathan Wade.

“I think that what they determined is that, the two of them engaged in behavior that had the appearance of impropriety by their collusion. But the cure for it was to remove Wade, thereby removing that. What it ignores is what has already occurred. Now, what the judge did was he absolved them, and specifically Willis, of an improper motive in bringing the case. That is a financial motive. He said essentially, no. You know, it was not done for financial reasons. And so the derivation of the case remains intact. But what he doesn’t really treat with is the fact that once the case was joined, her behavior appears to be very egregious. And just by taking out her partner in crime here, essentially, that cures it. And the thing can move forward. I think it’s he’s looking at, some very messy delays. They can appeal this while the trial is still going on. I think you’re looking at that. And then I think the real risk for him is the fact that the Georgia Senate is investigating. And if they get ahold of the 10,000 text messages which reportedly went back and forth between the two of them in November before she hired him on 1st November of 2021, you could have de facto proof that they perjured themselves, and then the same judge is going to be facing the fact that he’s going to have a D.A. who he earlier let off the hook, who’s now essentially got to put back on the hook.”
