The month long Islamic holiday of Ramadan has begun in Gaza without a ceasefire being agreed to. Negotiations between Israel and Hamas continue while the humanitarian crisis in Gaza worsens. Meanwhile, an air drop of aid boxes suffered a parachute malfunction causing several deaths at a Palestinian refugee camp.
