Police Association Switches from Trump to DeSantis
Former President Trump has lost a major endorsement ahead of the primary season.
I’m Tomi Lahren, more next.
2020 marked the FIRST time the Florida Police Chiefs Association endorsed a presidential candidate when they endorsed Donald Trump.
But this go-around the association has gone a different route and the group is instead, backing candidate and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
The association’s president released a statement thanking Governor DeSantis for “backing the blue” and for his dedication to defending the rule of law and those who uphold it.
Both men are staunch supporters of law enforcement and those who hold the line but for the FPCA to switch course and back DeSantis over Trump..well that’s significant.
But it’s not just the FPCA, the Florida Police Benevolent Association, is now also throwing support behind DeSantis over Trump.
DeSantis has done a lot for officers in Florida, even creating programs to incentivize the job AND recruit officers from liberal cities to make the move to his state..a state that respects the blue.
Trump is still way ahead in the polls but if more blue collar groups start migrating over to DeSantis..this thing could get more competitive.
