Co-host of “Outnumbered” Emily Compagno joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to talk about the latest episode of “The Fox True Crime Podcast”, in which she speaks with former FBI Agent Joe Pistone.
“I think my biggest takeaway now that I’ve had the honor of interviewing Joe Pistone and so many of these guys is that, you know, every second is a line between life and death, because any second that if they found a recording device, if their identity was questioned in a way, if there was a slip up with a story and all of these guys detail those sort of near-misses, that it would have resulted in them being killed. And it’s interesting to me as well to hear their emotional assessments of things. What were the relationships like for them? Were they real for them? You know, were they real friends? Did they care about these guys? Was leaving hard? How did they feel about the separation from family? Was it hard to subsume another identity? Did they absorb the identity? All of those questions are answered by these guys, and I think the answers might surprise you. And also, I should say, though, it’s not a monolith. So everyone answers differently. And everyone from Jack Garcia to Joe Pistone to Michael Franzes who was an actual underboss, Chazz Palminteri, who played a mafia guy. Like all of these guys have a different, unique perspective. And if you love learning about organized crime and you love Donnie Brasco, then enjoy this episode of mine.”
