Texas Republican Congressman Michael Burgess joins Fox Across America With guest host Paul Gleiser to explain why he’s not on board with the alternative sources of energy being promoted by the Biden administration and many Democratic lawmakers.
“Look, the Biden administration has made an enormous bet on offshore wind. And I’m not sold on that conceptually. It seems like a massively expensive project. It has not been tested on the scale that they are trying to develop. I pray they’re right, with the type of investment that the American taxpayer has been asked to make. But this is an untried technology. When we have technologies that do work, and our nuclear or natural gas fired power plants or even our coal fired power plants are some of the cleanest in the world, and why we would mothball those facilities with the hope that we’re going to be able to create and then distribute offshore wind energy all over the country. The build out of the electric grid is going to be unlike the scale anyone has ever seen before in order to get this energy from the coastal areas into the interior of the country.”
