Independence Day

As we celebrate Independence Day we are hopefully all reminded that although our nation isn’t perfect, it’s still the greatest nation on the face of the Earth and one always worth fighting for.

Happy Independence Day, America!

Now listen, there’s a lot wrong in the world today and a lot wrong here at home.

Scandals, corruption, investigations, and possibly even treason. Our leaders aren’t treating America the way America and AMERICANS deserve to be treated and a lot of us are angry about it, rightfully so.

But as frustrated as many of us are, we should keep in mind this week- and every week- that we are still blessed to call this country our home. We are blessed and privileged to be Americans.

I love my country, not because it’s perfect, but because it’s a work in progress, built and founded on the notion that freedom above all, is the bedrock of civilization.

And while some spit on this nation, refuse to stand for its anthem or salute its flag- that does not and will not ever take away from what our founders have created and what our brave men and women have fought and died to protect.

God Bless America, land of the free and home of the brave!
