Comedian Charles McBee joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to share his thoughts on CNN’s explanation to their viewers about why they decided to host a town hall with former President Trump last week.
“It’s kind of like if you’re a comic in the back of the room or if you’re on stage and you know that your peers are in the back of the room and you do something that’s kind of hack or that would be considered maybe hack or considered like, you’ve been doing the same bit since nine years ago, something like that. You immediately kind of go back to the back of the room or if you do a new bit that doesn’t really go over well, you go back to the back of the room, you see the comic, your peer and you go, you know, working on the new stuff. It’s kind of your way of copping a plea or apologizing to your peers because you’re a little embarrassed, even though the joke might have appealed in the room or might have did well on stage. I say that to say, these anchors on CNN, they feel a little embarrassed by these other hoity toity peers of theirs that they kind of have to look at and go, yeah, we had them on the network. So they’re getting creamed on MSNBC. They’re getting creamed by The Young Turks. They’re getting creamed by all these other people. And now they feel a little embarrassed. And also because they come off as hypocrites, because they were the same network that said, we’ll never have them back on. He’s a monster. We’re sorry we ever aired them in the first place. And when the ratings tanked after he left and now they have new leaders, here they go, giving him his own comedy special.”
