TikTok CEO Shou Zi CHew is set to testify before Congress this week and is expected to try to calm national security concerns that the popular app gathers data from users for nefarious purposes. TikTok, owned by ByteDance, has a sister app CapCut which is also now facing scrutiny over the handling of user data.
