GOP Says President Is Failing To Protect Our Borders, And Taiwan’s

House Republicans highlighted the shortcomings of President Biden’s border policies in a Homeland Security Committee hearing on Tuesday. In the hearing, members focused on how record-high illegal crossings may be fueling an increased presence of fentanyl in the US. Meanwhile, the President is still grappling with rising tensions with China as they weigh providing war aid to Russia and continue to menace Taiwan. Congressman Tony Gonzales (R-TX) represents a district containing over 800 miles of the US southern border and just returned from a Congressional trip to Taiwan. He joins the Rundown to explain why he believes the Biden administration is failing to control our borders and what kind of legislation could fix these issues. Later, he breaks down the variety of threats the Chinese government poses to the US and the likelihood that China will invade Taiwan.

On Monday, Governor Ron DeSantis signed a bill into law that would put an end to Disney’s decades-old self-governing district in Florida. The new law gives the state control over a 5-member board that would oversee the operations and services provided by Disney theme parks. The legislation comes following the company’s opposition to the Parental Rights in Education bill which banned curriculum related to sexual orientation and gender identity in classrooms from kindergarten through third grade. FOX Business Anchor and Correspondent Ashley Webster joins the Rundown to discuss why Disney had so much autonomy in the first place, what effects the law could have on Disney and parkgoers, and what Governor DeSantis’s ongoing war on ‘wokeism’ could mean for a potential presidential campaign.
