Chris Bedford: The Spy Balloon Is A Mascot For How Unserious America Is At Stopping The Chinese Threat

Executive Editor of the Common Sense Society magazine Chris Bedford joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to share his thoughts on the Biden administration’s response to the Chinese surveillance balloon that spent a week hovering over the United Sates before it was shot down over the Atlantic Ocean.

“This is something that the Chinese are pretending was a mistake and were even actually saber rattling a little bit after it exploded, saying that there would be repercussions. But it’s just kind of a mascot for how actually unserious America is, because the balloon in that matter is almost a distraction. I mean, when President Trump came in, they found out that the Interior Department was surveying American land with drones that they’d bought from China. We have tens of thousands of Chinese spies in our universities and in our corporations. There are secret Chinese police stations operating in Manhattan. They’re finally getting exposed by reporters before they got raided. There’s TikTok on millions of our children’s phones. So if our government was half serious, they would buy American drones, they would deport a lot of the Chinese nationals assumed to be spies. They would raid these police stations. They would shoot down these balloons before pilots saw them. They would ban TikTok. But we’re not serious. And this balloon was just a spectacle of how unserious we are to deal with the Chinese threat.”

Chris also sheds light on what the U.S. should do to end its dependence on China. Listen to the podcast to here what else he had to say!
