Senator Markwayne Mullin: What It Means To Be A True Citizen Legislator
Oklahoma Republican Senator Markwayne Mullin joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to shed light on his governing philosophy as he begins his first term in the upper chamber.
“I think when you look at the term citizen legislator, which is what our founding fathers wanted to make sure we had serving in Congress, they never envisioned the career politicians. They never envisioned that mindset. Does it take institutional knowledge? Yes. But they never believed that there would be people that actually make a living, just serving in elected offices. And so when we bring a unique perspective, like we do, I think we are uniquely positioned to truly do what our founding fathers wanted us to do is represent our backyard, be a representative, be it in the House or in the Senate, as a as a true citizen legislator. And I don’t think anybody has a better resume for that to me.”
Plus, Senator Mullin tells Jimmy why any discussion about lowering inflation has to start with the U.S. energy industry. To hear what else he had to say, listen to the podcast!
