Extra: The Trump Probe, Hunter Biden & The DOJ’s Political ‘Theater’
US Attorney General Merrick Garland recently appointed Jack Smith as the special counsel who will be overseeing the investigation into former President Trump’s handling of classified documents and his involvement in last year’s Capitol Riots. Although Attorney General Garland claimed the appointment emphasized the Justice Department’s commitment to independent investigations, many Republicans are questioning Smith’s impartiality.
Those same critics have also pointed to the DOJ’s lack of action in regard to the allegations surrounding Hunter Biden.
Earlier this week, Former Assistant US Attorney for the Southern District of New York and FOX News Contributor Andy McCarthy joined Rundown host Dave Anthony to discuss the nature of the Trump investigations, the impact they could have on the former President, and why he agrees with Republican lawmakers who say the DOJ is playing politics when it comes to investigation Hunter Biden and possible concerns about President Biden’s role in his business affairs.
Due to time limitations, we could not include all of the conversations in our original segment.
