Mike Pence: The Trump Administration Delivered Historic Results For Americans Despite Unprecedented Constant Attacks
Former Vice President Mike Pence joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to shed light on the strategy he tried to convince former President Trump to adopt during the weeks following their defeat in the 2020 presidential election.
“The truth is, we did get 10 million more votes in 2020 than we got in 2016. But at the end of the day, we came up short. But in the early days, I said to the president, look, I fully supported every legal challenge, some 60 lawsuits that the campaign had every right to file. But early on, I told the president before we left for Christmas, as I recounted in ‘So Help Me God’, it was just the two of us in the Oval Office. And he was getting ready to walk into the back room and I was getting ready to go to my office and head home for the night. And he said, ‘What do you think we ought to do?’. And I looked at him and I said, Mr. President, you know, after all these legal challenges play out, if nothing changes, I said, you should take a bow. And he said, ‘What do you mean?’. And I said, well after the 2016 election, we went out and did four or five thank you rallies all across the country. I said, we should do that again. We should just travel across the country thanking the American people for what we were able to accomplish together. And I said, and if you want to run again, run again. And at the end of the conversation, he kind of pointed at me as if to say, that’s worth thinking about, and then walked into the back room. But, you know, I’ll always wish that he would have grabbed that thought and put it into practice and not had us lead to that fateful day in January.”
