Florida AG Ashley Moody: How We Can Help The People Being Impacted By Hurricane Ian

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to provide an update on how her state is coping with the destruction brought about by Hurricane Ian.

“I am always so grateful to Americans that step in, in times of crisis, not only in tragedies within our own nation, but worldwide. As attorney general, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen that generosity be exploited and taken advantage of. Con men, bad actors, they come in and they’ll set up fake websites, they’ll set up fake GoFundMe pages, they’ll  try to take advantage of people. So I’m always saying, please don’t let that dampen your willingness to give. Just be prudent on the up end. Do your research. There’s a tool called Charity Navigator.org. You can go to you can always go to the Better Business Bureau, BBB. All of these things can help you. Do your research first, make sure it’s a reputable organization and then donate to those disaster recovery efforts. We’re always trying our best to step in and go after those that take advantage of the generosity of others. But it always helps us if people can do their research on the front end and avoid becoming victims of that.”
