Whipped Cream Ban?
Looking to buy a can of whipped cream in this major city?
Well, make sure to bring your ID!

It’s come to this, folks. New York has banned the sale of whipped cream canisters to those under 21. Fines for doing so range from $250-500 bucks.
Now this law wasn’t made to take the joy out of your favorite dessert, but rather because young people are increasingly using whipped cream canisters to get high.
This odd yet very popular method of getting high involves huffing nitrous oxide, which is used as the propellant in whipped cream canisters.
They are known more commonly as “whippets” and they come with a list of potential side effects such as: loss of blood pressure, fainting, heart attack and even sudden death.
Long term effects also include memory loss and psychosis.
So needless to say, whipped cream-of all things- has become quite the problem.
I’m not sure if limiting access with an age requirement will solve the problem, but it is rather ironic that you have to show an ID to buy whipped cream, but not to vote. Just sayin’
